This is a form of therapeutic massage that uses various strokes to
stimulate the circulatory, lymphatic, respiratory, muscular, digestive and
nervous systems in the body.
Deep Tissue Massage
A variation of Swedish Massage which adds a deeper level of contact for
those who prefer more depth with their massages.
Neuromuscular Massage
This is more of a treatment oriented massage to correct musculoskeletal
imbalances. This type of massage is recommended for clients with chronic or acute
pains recovering from injuries and looking to heal their bodies.
Sports Massage
A modality of massage that is geared to treat injuries associated with
each athlete’s specific activity helping to improve their performance.
Integrative Massage
Another variation of Swedish massage which adds the elements of the
mind and spirit along with the body. It is a unique modality developed at BCMT over 20
years ago. It involves breath awareness along with verbal guiding cues conducted by the
therapist. A wonderful way to take your massage to the next level.
Prenatal/Postpartum
Prenatal is a massage concentrated on the mother-to-be and her baby.
It focuses on safety and comfort and deals specifically with issues facing women
during pregnancy. Postpartum massage can help the new mother’s body recover from such
physical and emotional stresses as giving birth and being pregnant.
It is very important to receive a massage from a therapist who has had training in
either field to ensure utmost safety during this very special time in a woman’s life.
